These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Release Assurance service and website (the "Service"), provided by Release Assurance Inc. ("Release Assurance," "we," "us"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

1. The Service

Release Assurance is a software platform for Salesforce verification. You connect a Salesforce sandbox (Section 3) and describe the business processes you want protected; the platform authors those descriptions into validated verification plans, executes them through the real Salesforce interface on the schedule you set, and returns reporting, evidence and failure alerts. You operate the Service; we do not staff verification engagements or write automation on your behalf.

2. Plans and early-stage service

The Service is offered on a free plan and on paid plans. The plans available, what each includes, and their prices are published on our pricing page and may change; changes to a plan you are on are communicated in advance as described in Section 12.

The free plan is for trying the Service. Each person may hold one free workspace, tied to the work email address used to sign up for it. The free plan includes a limit on the promises you keep and a monthly allowance of proofs, of runs of any kind and of requests to the assistant, shown on our pricing page and in the Service. When any part of the monthly allowance is used up, the work that part covers stops until the allowance resets at the start of the next calendar month, or until you move to a paid plan. Where a paid plan cannot yet be bought in the Service, you move to it by contacting us. We may refuse a sign-up, or close a free workspace, that uses a disposable email address or an address that is not yours, or that is one of several opened to get around these limits.

The Service is early-stage. Features may change, be limited, or be discontinued, and some may be less reliable than a mature generally available service. We may add, modify, or remove functionality at our discretion, and we will not remove functionality your paid plan is described as including without telling you first.

3. Salesforce access

  • You grant access to a Salesforce sandbox using a non-administrator Salesforce account that you designate for the Service.
  • We connect only to Salesforce sandboxes. We refuse, when you connect, any production org, Developer Edition org (including an Agentforce Developer Edition org), scratch org or Trailhead Playground, with no exception.
  • We connect only with a Salesforce account that we have confirmed does not hold administrator-level permissions. We refuse, when you connect, any account that has the System Administrator profile or that holds Modify All Data, View All Data, Customize Application or Author Apex through any profile or permission set, and any account whose permissions we cannot read. Before we obtain Salesforce access for a verification run or a hosted browser session, we check again that the org is a sandbox and that the account is confirmed non-administrator, and we do not obtain it if either check fails. Each time we obtain new access from Salesforce, we also read the account's permissions in Salesforce again. We reuse access we have obtained for at most five minutes, so a change to the account's permissions is checked when we next obtain access, at most five minutes later.
  • You agree not to designate an org or an account of a kind described above, and not to grant the designated account administrator-level permissions after it is connected. If you do, we may suspend or disconnect the connection until you designate a sandbox and a non-administrator account.
  • We access your environment only to perform the verification you have configured and the hosted browser sessions you start, and we ask you to provide an account with no more access than the Service needs.
  • Some features sign a browser running in our infrastructure into your sandbox as the account you designate, so that you can drive it from the Service. What passes through that session, and what we do and do not keep, is described in Section 5 of our Privacy Policy.
  • You may revoke our access at any time, in Salesforce or by removing the environment from the Service. Once you do, we obtain no new access to your sandbox. Revoking in Salesforce also ends the access we already hold; removing the environment from the Service alone does not, so a verification run or hosted browser session already under way may finish with the access it holds.

4. Fees

The free plan is provided free of charge and does not require a payment method.

Paid plans are charged at the prices published on our pricing page, or at the prices set out in an order form where we have agreed one with you. You are charged only for a plan you have chosen, for each environment you add to a plan priced per environment, and for proofs past your plan's monthly allowance at the rate published for it. In a calendar month in which your plan changes, or an environment is added to or removed from it, the monthly allowance is the allowance of each plan you held, in proportion to the days you held it (for a plan priced per environment, each environment's, in proportion to the days it was on the plan), plus the free plan's allowance in full if you held the free plan that month; proofs already run in an environment that is removed still count toward that month's allowance; and proofs past the allowance are charged at the lowest rate published for any paid plan you held that month. Proofs past the allowance are charged after the end of the calendar month in which they ran or, once a cancellation or pause of the plan is scheduled, straight away; while one is scheduled, or while a payment for the plan has failed, proofs stop at the monthly allowance. A paid plan's monthly allowance of proofs, and the charge for proofs past it, apply from the first calendar month the Service bills in proofs, which the Service shows. We will tell you in advance before a price change takes effect for a plan you are on, and you may cancel rather than accept it. Taxes, where applicable, are additional.

5. Your responsibilities

When you sign up, you agree to give accurate information and to keep access to the email address you sign in with secure; activity in your workspace is your responsibility. You are responsible for the accuracy of the coverage you request, for maintaining valid sandbox access, for the configuration and content of your own Salesforce environment, and for using the Service in compliance with applicable law and your agreements with Salesforce and other third parties. You agree not to misuse the Service or attempt to disrupt it or gain unauthorized access to it.

6. Data and intellectual property

As between the parties, you retain all rights to your Salesforce data and business information, including the content of verification plans you create in the Service. We retain all rights to the Service, our software, and the verification engine, including the primitive registry and the models and prompts that turn your descriptions into validated plans. Verification plans you create in the Service are yours; the platform components that author and execute them are licensed to you for use within the Service during your subscription. We may use aggregated, de-identified information to operate and improve the Service.

7. Confidentiality

Each party may receive confidential information of the other. Each party agrees to use the other's confidential information only as needed to perform under these Terms and to protect it with reasonable care.

8. Disclaimers

The Service helps you detect issues in your Salesforce workflows, but it does not guarantee that your workflows are error-free or that every issue will be found. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

9. Availability and limitation of liability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we are not responsible for issues outside our reasonable control, including Salesforce platform outages. To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, and our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or, for accounts on the free plan, US$100.

10. Term and termination

Either party may stop using or providing the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for material breach or to protect the Service. On termination, our access to your environment ends and we delete or, on request, return your data and artifacts.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, except where a different governing law is required by applicable law. The parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Alberta.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and communicate material changes through the Service or by email. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
